  1. Congratulations on trying LE6.  If you are looking for an easy
  2. to use, extremely flexible way of doing HVAC loads and energy
  3. estimates, this is it!
  4.  
  5. LE6 requires an IBM or an IBM true compatible microcomputer
  6. with a hard drive and a printer.  You will need an understanding
  7. of HVAC systems and the 1985 ASHRAE heat loss and heat gain
  8. methods, (or a newer ASHRAE issue of these methods).  LE6 is
  9. an intuitive program, but it has a great many features which
  10. will remain hidden from you unless you read the User's Manual.

  13. To install LE6 and print the manual -
  14.    1. Make a subdirectory by typing MKDIR \LE6 and enter.
  15.    2. Get into that directory by typing CD\LE6 and enter.
  16.    3. Copy the diskettes to your hard drive by inserting
  17.       each diskette and typing  COPY A:*.* C:  and enter.
  18.       (This is assuming that your hard disk is drive C and
  19.       you are inserting the diskettes into drive A.)
  20.    4. Unpack the archives by typing PKUNZIP * 
  21.    5. Now make sure your printer is on and enough paper
  22.       for 42 pages with the paper set to the top of the
  23.       first page.
  24.    6. To print the manual, type  PRINT LE6MANUL.DOC  and
  25.       enter.
  26.    7. To run the program, follow the instructions contained
  27.       in the manual.

  30. After you've used the program for awhile, you'll agree that
  31. there isn't an easier, more flexible HVAC loads and energy
  32. program anywhere.

  68. LE6 CADD
  69.  
  70. LE6 CADD is the interface between LE6 and AutoCAD.  LE6 is
  71. included with LE6 CADD.  You must also have AutoCAD software.
  72. LE6 CADD reads AutoCAD Architectural drawings and after LE6
  73. calculates, LE6 CADD generates AutoCAD HVAC drawings, (diffusers,
  74. air quantites, HVAC units, etc.)  The user is in complete control
  75. of the entire design and drawing process.  LE6 CADD is the first
  76. all purpose HVAC CADD.  It is the ultimate in high speed
  77. production of HVAC drawings.

  81. Telephone support is provided in pre-purchased blocks costing
  82. $30 each.  Each block entitles you to half-an-hour of on-line
  83. help for a ninety day period.  Users covered by a current support
  84. plan may reach ESS/Exel Software at (612) 542-9357 on most
  85. weekdays from 8am to Noon and 1 to 5 pm Central Time.  Please
  86. have your registration (license) number at hand when you call.
